Jason Kenney - Terrorist Sympathiser
From September 12, 2008
Secretary for Multiculturalism, MP Jason Kenney - always first (or second/third) to stand up and accuse his fellow parliamentary colleagues of being terrorist sympathisers - was surprised to find in April 2006 that he was, in fact, a terrorist sympathiser himself.
Little to MP Kenney's knowledge apparently, he had attended and spoke at a rally organized by the National Council of Resistance of Iran, the political wing of the Mujahedin-e-Khalq. There he was photographed and his photograph uploaded to the organization's website.
The Mujahedin-e-Khalq is officially designated as a terror group by the Canadian and United States governments. According to the group, "Islamic socialism can only be attained through the destruction of the existing regime and the elimination of Western influence." Human Rights Watch has charged that the group is responsible for the persecution, detention, beatings, and torture of dissidents.
At first Kenney was shocked. Then he said he did not remember being at the rally. And then he claimed that he wasn't aware that the rally which he attended and spoke at was in support of a designated terror group.
Truly, his style of competence is rare and should be treasured.
